To feel enough
By Shloime Richler
To feel enough,
that thing that pushes us everywhere
that need to preform, the need to do
that need to run, the need to be fun
So we try a jog, we try a swim
we try to produce more, we try to think less
we try to escape and we try to sleep
we try a hot bath hoping some warmth will soften our chests
But what do we do when it doesn’t work?
when we work but it doesn’t work
when we do but it doesn’t do
when stuff don’t make us feel enough
But to feel enough, that’s all it was
hidden beneath our chests
that sharp pain, that constant urge
but just a few words we might have heard once.
