Judge or be gentle

By Aizik Katzman

Judge or be gentle

“Judging others

Is not allowed

Criticize yourself -

Of that be proud”

~

“Beating yourself

That’s being honest

Acknowledging the “reality”

Indicating altruistic progress”

~

Being gentle, though

Is perceived as self-serving

Wholly misdirected

And of which you are undeserving

~

Is that passing judgement

Unfairly, one-sided

Treating your closest

From others, divided

~

That isn’t right

Nor reality’s full story

You are at least like everyone else

Not righteous, or owed glory

~

It doesn’t serve you

And that’s enough

Evidence to discard

Being “honest” and rough

~

It doesn’t serve others

No one really admires

One who is unsuccessful

Who purges himself like fires

~

Maybe compare him

To the angels of hell

Who are so good at cleaning

Ringing inquity’s bell

~

God does not appreciate

Meting punishment out

To others as well as oneself

Your help - He can do without

~

Build yourself up

There’ll be plenty to dissuade

You from being successful

Self-harm evade
